We made it back safe and sound. Boo, I really wish it could have been longer, but I guess I had to come home sometime! We had a really good time, and my feet hurt still from all the walking we did. We got to Vallejo around noon on Saturday. It worked out perfect because 6 flags opened right at noon. We got lucky and snagged the shuttle over right away after we got our tickets from the hotel. The park was nice, the weather was 85ish and there were hardly any lines to stand in. We hung around till about 3 and decided to go back to the hotel to check in and get some lunch. Fortunately for us they had built a big shopping center 5 minutes away with lots of restaurants. Last time I was there there was only a Denny's in the vicinity. We chose the Olive Garden. It was so good and we got there early enough (senior time) we didn't have to wait for a table. After dinner we went back to the park and rode the rides we didn't get a chance to get on. We road everything and got on our favorites twice. The hubby is really afraid of heights, so this one ride (my favorite) I had to talk him into getting on. It was pretty funny cause he was screaming like a bitch, with his eyes closed, and told me he would never get on it again!
Sunday we got up early to catch our ferry over to San Francisco. It was a little cold and overcast that day but the sun was in and out and it warmed up a bit. My hubby who decoded it would be a great idea to only pack shorts and tee shirts, with no jacket (I told him) ended up running around tyring to find a hoodie big enough to fit him at one of the shops on pier 39. Finally after like a hour he settled on one. Then we were off to Alcatraz. Holy crap it was crowded. I enjoyed the tour but the amount of people all milling around taking the same audio tour made it difficult to say the least. I mean instead of parking your ass in front of a display for like a hour, look and move on. So that kind of sucked. We ate lunch at some sourdough factory and I had my soup in a bread bowl. Aaahhh it was so good. Then we went walking around to just about everywhere. Of course he spotted a hooters and we had to go in for a beer. We saw this segway tour of the city I want to do if we ever go again. It looked like a lot of fun. We made it back on the 6:00 ferry and hit the hot time to relax our muscles.
Monday we drove home. To rain. And cold :( I think winter is finally upon us. I was so tired yesterday I think I took like 3 naps, in and out all afternoon. Then picked up the kids from school and ate dinner and fell asleep on the couch at 6. He woke me up and said go to bed at 7:30. I went and watched some TV for an hour and went to bed. God it feels like I had mono or something yesterday, but maybe it was because I had so much fun.
Well the boss has been hanging around so going to make this short. More tomorrow!
I am so glad your trip went well and that you made it back safe and sound. Sorry about the weather, it's been 80's here in Colorado, doesn't seem like fall. Glad you are back!
